Let me tell you a little bit about myself. From 2003 - 2007, I attended Penn State University (WE ARE...) where I earned my undergraduate, Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. I worked in the corporate world for a few years, before deciding to pursue a career in education. Due to my business experiences, I was able to secure a position as an emergency certified Business Education Teacher in the same district where I was once a student - Mifflin County, PA. While employed, I took night classes at Shippensburg University (Go Raiders!) to obtain my teaching certification in Business and Computer Technology, K-12. Recently, I received my Master's Degree in Online Education from Wilkes University (Be Colonel!). In summary, I'm obsessed with life-long learning.
With regard to CLA, I will be stepping into the role of CATE Teacher and Coordinator of Online CATE Learning. Coastal Leadership Academy's Purpose, Promise, Vision, and Values captured my attention and heart from day one. I was searching for a school that was willing to disrupt the "educational status quo" in order to honor students' capacities as individuals, all while allowing them to be a part of a belonging and collaborative learning environment. What I found in CLA was that and so much more...to the point where my husband and I were willing to relocate 600+ miles to join the Archer family!
On a lighter note, I am married to my kind, loving, and talented hubby, Matt. We have four “furry” children; two cats, Dexter and Lessard (Sard for short), as well as two English Springer Spaniels, Rogan and Cappelletti (Cappy for short). Other than teaching, I am passionate about Jesus, mindfulness, belonging, compassion, empathy and human flourishing, and the sun, sand, and sea! Harry Potter "anything" awakens my inner nerd and art, yoga, tattoos, and mermaids are among my favorites.
